Delivery Clearance Requirements for Fully Built Buildings

Backyard Creations of Lancaster is not responsible for the repair of tire tracks, ruts, or other yard or shrubbery damage during the delivery process. We are also not responsible for objects that cannot be seen, such as buried electric lines, septic fields, septic tanks, wells, etc. The ground must be hard enough for the delivery company to drive on to accomplish the job. Therefore, if the truck/trailer gets stuck, you will be responsible for the tow truck expense. Prior to delivery, please clear the path to your structure’s foundation. Power lines, trees, tree branches, stumps, mailboxes, fences, posts, and rocks, and anything in the way of the truck or placement are your responsibility to move.  Any dramatic inclines or slopes would be considered an obstacle. If we are on site and the building cannot be delivered due to soft ground or obstacles in the way the delivery will be rescheduled and an additional delivery fee will be charged to the customer.

Width and height requirements to access the sites are as follows:

Height: 15 feet

Width:

  • 8′ wide building – 10′ clearance
  • 10′ wide building – 12′ clearance
  • 12′ wide building – 14′ clearance

If any turns need to be made to access the site additional clearance will be needed.

Rolling in a Building

In the event the truck cannot access your desired site, or needs to be turned, structures 10′ x 12′ and under can usually be rolled or spun with schedule 40 PVC pipes short distances. If you believe this may be your situation please contact us so we can come prepared. In some cases we may need you to provide up to 3 people at the site to aid in placement. The truck driver could be the fourth person. This may take additional time over the 30 minute drop time and this will be billed $25.00 for each additional ½ hour.  Please note: Ground must be level to make rolling possible.

Delivery Rescheduling

If you ordered a built on site and if the scheduled day provides inclement weather such as rain or snow, we will need to reschedule the built on site.

If you would like to reschedule your delivery date we would like to know 4 business days in advance. In the event that you do not provide 4 business days advance notice, but we can stop the delivery, you will be responsible for the cost of any permits that were purchased for your delivery. In the event that we cannot stop the truck, you will be responsible for the return delivery cost and any permits that were purchased for your delivery.

Customer Satisfaction

Customer satisfaction is our first priority. Upon arrival the customer must inspect the building and sign the acceptance form prior to the building being unloaded. If the building is not satisfactory one of two actions will be taken. If it is determined the needed changes/repairs can be made on site the building will be placed and we will then schedule a repair date. If it is determined the repairs cannot be made on site the building will be returned to the plant where the needed repairs will be made or a new structure be built. Backyard Creations of Lancaster will determine which action will be taken. Invalid customer grievances would include but not limited to color selection, style selection, size selection, shingle selection.
